Programs
Our services address the client’s addiction
directly, as well as the side effects of addiction, such as chronic illness,
criminal activity, family issues, and unemployment. Our programs provide
intervention and treatment through the use of medication, counseling,
education, and referral to self-help groups. Appropriate aftercare referrals
provide continuing support for recovery.
Programs by Department
provides
medical treatment to heroin users using methadone, Revia, or Suboxone.
The Alpha Drug Free Program
serves
clients not needing medical treatment.
Case
Management Programs
specialize in serving challenging populations
including chronically ill minorities, and persons with
HIV/AIDS (NSAFE). An on-site Christiana Care infectious disease clinic
provides medical care and medication monitoring.
Pregnant and Parenting Women
receive
case management, education, and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome prevention in
addition to
their outpatient treatment.
The HIV Prevention Unit
provides
scientifically-based interventions which enable individuals who inject
drugs or practice unsafe sex to recognize their HIV risk, learn their HIV
status, and develop and manage their own risk reduction plan.
The Drug Court Program
is attended by
court-ordered individuals to resolve a first time drug charge. The SENTAC
program provides evaluation and treatment for Plummer Center work release
clients.
Sussex County Services
offers multiple treatment modalities, including Project Renewal for
homeless substance abusers, The Lighthouse residential program, mental health treatment, and medication
management.

BCI services are funded by and are part of the
system of public services offered by Delaware Health and Social Services,
Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health, and Division of Public Health.
BCI services are funded by the United States
Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. SAMHSA/CSAT is
committed to working with its grantees to provide the most effective and
efficient services to individuals and families impacted by substance use
disorders.
