What Do Donations Support?

A donation to Brandywine Counseling & Community Services supports our work, helping Delawareans affected by addiction or mental illness change behaviors and attitudes. It's one of the best ways to invest your charitable dollars or your volunteer time. Here are just a few reasons why:

• The Delaware Needle Exchange has exchanged over 108,623 syringes, enrolled over 1,251 participants, and identified 20 HIV positives.
• Over 3,000 individuals were tested for HIV as of December 2011, 2,474 of who were local community members and came to the mobile RV site to get tested.
• 449 methadone customers (40%) have at least 90 days of abstinence.
• The Alpha outpatient program discharged 44% of customers successfully or with some goals completed in 2009.
• Intensive Outpatient Services were introduced in 2009 at Lancaster, Alpha, and Lighthouse to offer a higher level of care to individuals not succeeding in the traditional program.
• The Newark Center saw a 25% increase in the number of consumers remaining in treatment for one year or more in 2009.
